Created during a 2016 Summer Residency in the School of Visual Art's Bio-Lab, ENZYME is a video installation documenting a collaborative performance between the artist and a colony of land snails. Helix aspersa muller glycoconjugates (snail secretion) has recently emerged as a popular ingredient in the cosmetic industry, however it's healing properties have been used by humans throughout history. ENZYME seeks to honor this ritual while questioning this ingredient's role in the cosmetic industry.
